I had a reminder today of why I am making this journey.
It is easy to get wrapped up in the minutia of a new project and loose sight of the bigger picture. I’m examining product labels and cutting up veggies because I want a healthier life for my family. I want the terrible legacy of cancer to end with my mother.
I’ve been reading an eloquent description of another family’s battle with this plague. I admire the honesty and the courage required to put so much out there for all to see. I shy away from many of the details of our cancer journey out of respect for my mother’s privacy and, probably, out of a fear of admitting too much.
I am choosing to spend my Lenten journey preserving life. This family is, not only preserving, but spreading faith. I encourage you to read, not only this post, but the following series of posts.
