I hope The Husband will forgive me… I have a new love.

I love my crock pot.

I have never been a big fan of them as the usual crock pot fare… chilis, stews, etc… were not really to my taste. Thanks to a whole new generation of crock pot recipes, I am a convert. I have made risotto, whole ham, and carribean curried chicken.

The crock pot is giving me back time I thought was lost to harried dinner prep. With two kids in care and a teenager to chauffeur seemingly everywhere, the days I work used to mean a rushed and usually grumpy cook, and no time to spend with the kids, even though they’d been away from mommy all day. The crock pot means I have time to play a bit while dinner is simmering away. It takes a little advance planning but if I do a little meal prep while I’m making breakfast or lunch, it is amazing how relaxed dinner time can be – and the food on the table is still good!

I’m in love… and I may just start posting a few recipes.

You have such a talent for writing Megan. Your blogs are a joy to read.I also love my crock pot but I’m also low on recipes. Lately I’ve been doing ribs in it when I see them on sale at Superstore. (put ribs in, add bottle of bbq sauce and 1/2 cup oj. Cook. Serve with green veggies and mashed potatoes.)I’ll try to get some recipes from my little sister. She even makes dessert in hers! :)Amy
